BAGELS OH HOW I LOVE THEE

Image
If you know me you know I love a good bagel. My love for bagels has grown over the years....I use to be your basic Jane...plain bagel, plain cream cheese! I know not the most exciting thing and I would just go to Panera to get it! Then as I got older I branched out and would get CRAZY with my order....poppyseed with veggie or sesame seed with veggie cream cheese.....BAHAHAHA....not so crazy. I still loved them and bagels will always be my downfall!  Josh introduced me to my new love in bagels. I had it first in Georgia at a hole in the wall shop called Sunny's Bagel and Deli...if you ever come to visit we will go there. They are the sweetest people and have such a variety of different bagel sandwiches. He like a Lox bagel and now that is MY GO TO! I have learned to make it at home and I love it. My oldest also likes it now. She doesn't get all the toppings but we make it for her at home from time to time.  New York Bagels are where it is at! I don't know what they use! (JK

January Round Up

I know this is a food "blog", but there is more to me than just my love of food. I figure I would share some of that today.  I have always loved books and they have become something that I hope my girls love as well. My oldest loves to read, especially now that she can read all on her own. Last year was a ROUGH year of reading. I think I read a total of 5 books last year! I had a goal of 25. Needless to say I could not hold any attention to books at all.  At the beginning of the year I decided that I was going to listen to more books. It would be easier with 2 kiddos having to chase around and entertain. Of course I will read books on my Kindle (what else am I going to do when putting the girls to bed) and I also have a HUGE stack of books to read. I will get to them at some point.    So.....here is my January Round Up on the books I read. I am not a book blogger or influencer at all. I just love books and want to share. Maybe you will find something that interest you.  FIRST

Low and Slow.....KC knows how to do it!

BBQ is a way of life....when it's done right it is delicious. Joe's Kansas City BBQ knows how to do it. As it states on their site ...."In Kansas City, where barbecue is a way of life, it is understood that smoke has mystical properties. Smoke has the power to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. It can transform the least desirable cuts of meat into the most delectable. It can even transform a neighborhood corner gas station into one of the most popular restaurants on the planet."  Their story is a one that should inspire those who want to follow a passion. This is a husband and wife team (Jeff and Joy) who bought a smoker and entered BBQ contest and winning many of them. A list of all their trophies can be found here . They went into business with a man named Joe Don Davidson, who found and owned Oklahoma Joe's Smoker Company in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The three of them opened the first Oklahoma Joe's in 1996. In 1997 Joe sold his smoker business an

We now live in Georgia and the food has been something that I find lacking......HOWEVER I have found some things that I do enjoy! Peaches for one is something that does not disappoint.....something else that doesn't is PECAN PIE!!!!  I love a good pecan pie....anytime of the year. I make my grandma's recipe whenever I can. I also make her pecan tarts and they just make my heart happy. We ordered from Savannah Candy Kitchen . Like I said I just love a good pecan pie!  This pie was delicious and I HIGHLY recommend that you get it. If you love pecan pie as much as I do...you should just go ahead and order it. You can get it from Savannah Candy Kitchen website or you can get it here too! Just depends on how many pies you want.  Also Georgia Peaches are juicy and delicious! We got these fr
